Young researchers from four (4) Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of Region 10 joined the Consultation and Technical Evaluation of DRR-CAA Proposals: Outputs of Capacity Building on Health Research in Disaster held at N Hotel in Kauswagan, Cagayan de Oro City last July 25-26, 2018. The activity was the 4th in the series of consultation and workshops designed to enhance the capacities of young researchers in developing health research in disaster.
The four HEIs are Misamis University (MU), University of Science and Technology in Southern Philippines (USTP), Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) and Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan (XU). Researchers of these universities presented their outputs from the previous capacity building activities (Phase 1 to Phase 3) on health research in Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM). A panel of mentor-consultants composed of Dr. Ofelia P. Saniel, Dr. Ophelia M. Mendoza, Dr. Pauline F. Convocar, Dr. Dinah P. Nadela, Dr. Jessie B. Manuta and Dr. Carlos Primero D. Gundgran served as evaluators of the researches.
Researchers from MSU-Main Campus of Marawi City, from the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), also presented their health research proposals on DRRM. (Kirlyn Baconguis, DOST-X)
